School

I got my official acceptance letter to the Nursing program. I officially start Spring 2013. I’m super officially excited you guys. It’s OFFICIAL, i’m going to be a badass nurse.

To all my followers that are in school, high school mainly, i’m sure you hear this quote a lot: “You are smart, you just don’t apply yourself.”

Do you realize how many times I heard that in high school and how much it irritated me? Do you even realize how TRUE IT IS? I graduated high school with like… a 2.18 GPA. After my first two semesters of college I had below a 2.0 GPA which is very bad! But after I found out I was on academic probation and was nearing academic suspension I took it upon myself to actually care about my school and I got a 3.15 GPA last semester! And that was hardly applying myself. Now I am trying even harder because I know that good grades are possible for me.

I wish, I WISH I took high school more seriously. So much more seriously…

The point i’m making though is that you are completely capable, and brilliant, and smart, you are NOT stupid like you make yourself out to be as an excuse. I went from almost getting kicked out of college, community college at that, to being accepted into an accredited nursing program that is very competitive to get into. I applied myself and got rewarded significantly. I wish I listened to all the old people tell me that I need to apply myself.

So here, have a break, don’t listen to an old person yell at you, listen to someone near your age (I’m 19) APPLY YOURSELF! 

If you don’t trust in yourself, look to God. Pray. Pray. Pray.
